James Kritzler with Spots

I don't know James but by all accounts he's an incredibly nice young man with impeccable taste in clothes and hard rock credentials!
I'm not sure I got his likeness quite right (and he is a little pale) but I'm happy with this painting overall, and I did it in a little over two hours (all up) so my project is back on track!

Jay the Zombie

Though the semester is over, I have decided to set myself the exercise of painting portraits from photos, simply for the practice. Heck Tate to the rescue again, since he's always shooting portraits. Thanks Heck! And since it's practice I'm after, not finished work, I set out with the intention of limiting the amount of time I spend on each painting......but instead I've spent the whole week on the first one and it STILL looks like the cover graphic for a B grade 80's Zombie movie. At least it gave me the opportunity to practice the artful "SPLAT".

Story Bridge Again

Continuing in the theme of re-examining a subject, last night I completed a second painting of the story bridge. This one looks better in real life, even if I do say so myself. It's certainly the most colourful painting I have done to date.

Coffee with Sugar

Working on several things at once, while also being otherwise busy, means I've struggled to finish anything for a couple of weeks but I think this one is about done. The second of my one line gags.
